   Bernard LABOUCHERE
Experienced photographer, Bernard Labouchère, of Dutch and French origin, born in Switzerland, is walking out in the country, mountain and water sides since his childhood, looking also for high summits, unusual or poetic images, drawn also from his numerous journeys across the world. In search of pictures difficult to grasp, he is most of the time accompanied by a heavy loaden wallet containing various cameras, in order to catch the colours or the black and white, a choice depending on the time of exposure or fleeting instants.

Exacting, with a sharp and relevant eye, Bernard Labouchère does not hesitate to spend many hours, sometimes even a few days in order to find the most intense or appropriate moment to seize what nature is offering to his glance. He proposes therefore to the spectator unique and privileged sequences. Full of care for the details, however endowed with a great sensitiveness, Bernard Labouchère realizes snapshots which look like real masterpieces, like this view of the Lake of Geneva, evoking a painting of Ferdinand Hodler.

The academic and sharp approach of his professional activities is perceptible in his passion for photography. The care for details, his know-how acquired through the years, his predisposition for the things well done, his imaginary, his love of nature, are as many elements present in his experimenting.

The large size formats permit to measure the quality of the work of the photographer, his desire to transmit his impressions and his emotions. Every snapshot raises up enthusiasm and strong moments, lived on the quick, which the photographer does not hesitate to share and communicate.
A group of pictures which can be read like paintigs, with coloured touches or subtle black and white contrasts, seducing the eye of the observer and draws him into a magnificent visual and sensorial adventure !

Bernard Labouchère lives in Gland/Vd and works in Geneva. Graduated from the University of Geneva in Political Sciences, with mention : International Studies, he starts with a professional career. After a three years’ stay in Franfurt/Main, he spends one year in Jordan and stays in many Near Eastern countries, devoting his free time to photography and mountain climbing. He realizes two group exhibitions of photography in Geneva and one in the Canton de Vaud. Numerous trips in Europe, United-States and Indonesia.
